Balmain Sports Physiotherapy provides a highly specialised service allowing you to benefit from a skilled assessment, an accurate diagnosis and the latest evidence-based 'hands on' management techniques, required to ensure a minimal recovery time and enable you to maximize your sporting performance, whether at a recreational or or elite sporting level.
Our practitioners provide these services in an ethical and responsible manner, working closely with the athlete and their associated members of the health care team (coaches, sports physicians, orthopedic surgeons, strength conditioning advisers, dietitians, podiatrists, naturopaths etc) to provide optimal results for athletes, family, employees and companies.
To maintain excellence in our practice, each practitioner participates in continuing professional sports development, as well as strictly adhering to the codes of practice established by his/her professional body.
This ensures treatment - prevention - performance enhancement.

Balmain Sports Physiotherapy was established in the heart of the Balmain Penisula in 1980 and has a rich history of providing physiotherapy to the local community.
In 2002, the practice was purchased by James Sutherland, a sports physiotherapist, who brought new expertise and extensive links to the practice with a variety of local, state and national sports clubs.
With continued growth, the practice moved to a new purpose designed facility in February 2009, allowing the establishment of a multi-disciplinary Sports Medicine practice. We now have 11 physiotherapy beds, an extensive gymnasium, spacious pilates studio and 4 fully fitted consultation rooms, which enables us to provide timely and knowledgeable sports injury management to Balmain and the Greater Inner West.
